What We Do

The Salvation Army works every day to make life better for countless people in our community.  Your gift can enable us to serve nutritious meals to the hungry, shelter those in need, help overcome addictions, provide youth with music lessons and youth character programs.  The Salvation Army is an international organization and you can contribute and help throughout the world for such programs as preventing human trafficking, HIV/AIDS clinics in Africa, homeless feeding programs in Russia and providing homes for orphaned and abandoned children in Mexico.

You can make tax deductable donations to The Salvation Army either in person or by mailing to our offices at 514 Sutherland Ave., Janesville.  Credit Card donations are also accepted over the phone or in person, please ask for Verna.  In addition to to cash donations, we welcome donations of food and supplies.  You can also make donations online using The Salvation Army's secured server.  Your online donation will be routed to your local community or specified location.

The Salvation Army couldn't do what it does without the help of our volunteers.  We are always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of programs such as Youth Programs, Special Events, Women's Auxiliary, Bell Ringing, Community Meal Program and more!  If you have some time to give, or a special skill that you think may be of use please contact Amber or check out our volunteer webpage here!  Type "janesville" into the search box.  Then either login to your account, if you have volunteered with us before or fill out an application if you are new!

Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary

The purpose of the Women's Auxiliary is to assist The Salvation Army through volunteerism and fundraising.  The Women's Auxiliary provides an opportunity for women to meet in a spiritual atmosphere, form new relationships, and contribute their skills and resources to better our community and the world around us.  In Janesville the SAWA has three major events a year, the Fabric and Craft Sale which takes place around Easter each year, the Flower Sale which takes place just before Mother's Day and Coats for Kids which takes place in October.  For more information on the events or how to become a member, contact Major Ruth Fay and she will be able to assist you.
